We are a reliable, dependable, and unique dog walking service for people who want their dogs to enjoy life as much as possible.

Since 2009, we have been providing off-leash group hikes throughout the East Bay Regional Parks and other local trails.

Dogs crave off-leash play and social activity - experiences they need to be happy and healthy.
We know how important it is to nurture this basic and vital need so our furry friends are fulfilled, satisfied and well balanced.
Jeff and Elana are long time dog enthusiasts and life partners.

They’re our family, our companions, and they absolutely LOVE being outside, playing and running with the pack – an experience they know by instinct.

Our hikes are fun, we encourage dogs to be themselves and sniff, play and explore safely. We use force-free positive reinforcement methods to increase their good behaviour, and we provide dogs an outlet for healthy socialisation. During our hikes we regularly practice basic commands, strengthening their recall and fostering good trail etiquette.

We encourage polite interactions with other trail users including other dogs, bikers, hikers, kids, squirrels and even the occasional horse, goat, or cow!

Over a decade ago, they started Action Dog as a way to socialise their own dogs in the pack dynamic.

We pick up your dog at your home, in most areas of Oakland, Piedmont and some neighborhoods in Berkeley, and Emeryville. If you're looking for a dog walker, contact us and we'll see if you live near our pickup routes.

Perhaps your dog has never been introduced to an off-leash pack environment – in many cases Jeff and Elana can provide the personal attention and individualised training your dog may need to introduce this wonderful and beneficial experience to them.
We start all new dogs slowly, and give them the freedom to explore when we trust they're ready.

We currently have two awesome employees, Adam and Matt, who help walk the dogs each week. We are a small and dedicated team!
