Tick season is here!

Once the rain started, our parks in the East Bay and all over the state have become breeding grounds for the little annoying bugs called Ticks. In California, we are home to the Deer Tick, the Brown Dog Tick, and the Lonestar Tick, among other species. As dog owners, we are responsible for checking our dogs over after every hike, and we have been pulling more of the little buggers out of our dogs as the rains continue.

Visit this site for some useful information about ticks, the diseases they may carry, how to help prevent them from getting on yourself and your dogs, and how to safely remove and treat dogs for ticks.

We use a handy tool called the "Tick Key" to remove them if they've gotten lodged in there. They always seem to be around the ears and neck, on the chest and belly, but remember to check everywhere.

New Client Special!

2012 is here! We humans have a tradition of making New Year's Resolutions and setting goals for the new year, and the lists we make usually have a lot to do with exercising more and eating healthier. What about wishing the same for your dog?

We know that a tired dog is a happy dog, and the kind of tired that your pooch feels after a day of running around and playing is the best - it's when they chase bunnies in their dreams and twitch on the couch next to you.

So now is the time to take advantage of the New Clients Special we currently have going for New Year's! For every 4 walks, one is free. That means if you buy 6 walks, you'll get 8! Buy 9 walks and you'll get 12! That'll get your buddy out into the hills hiking his furry face off, and he'll be off to a great start this 2012. Act now, coupon expires 2/29/12
